I can see many people being disconnected to this blog and never ever considering that they themselves are victums. All of these blogs are not just talking about the neighboor acrossed the street, or your sister that is so rebelious.... its about you. Put yourself aside for a min, take away your thinking of " this couldn't possibly be for me..." and really soul search.
I can remember taking a personality test and seeing what color I am. I remembered answering all the questions how I wanted to be, not how I am. For instance, I answered that I was the party person, the outgoing, the popular, the person that is always living on the edge. I am far from this. Sure I love to party, I like to talk to people, I have friends, and love doing crazy things, but I wouldn't say I am THE party animal, an so on and so on. What I am getting at is just be truthful to yourself. All people can benifit from self help, motivational speaking, but not all people think it benifits them...cause they don't think they are in need of help! I have gone through so many instances, talks, books and so on in my life thinking "man this would sure help..." and think of somone else and how they need to change. A thought popped in my head: :"How can I change?" it was so life changing that I stopped the tape I was listening to and really thought. I had learned about paradims and influencing others, and I knew that I couldn't change someone, but I could change myself and in so doing influence them to change. It just never hit me that I was the one that needed to change till that moment.
so step back, take a TRUTHFUL look at yourself and begin to indulge on helping yourself be a better person by letting others influence you in meaningful ways through inspiration and motivation. It's ok to not be perfect. Just disregard the negitive influence and don't react to it. Get rid of the thoughts that everything around you needs to change for your sake and remember you have to make the change before your sorroundings change.

This is a glimpse into what my thoughts, philosophies, attitudes, and inspirations. Many of these posts will be adding or revising what I have learned from many authors. These authors may or may not be quoted. I may want to clarify that I am not rephrasing what these authors have written, but I am adding my own thoughts to their words by means of my experiences, background, and influences of my own paradigm.

Not urgent not important, yet takes priority
Isn't it funny: the things that are not urgent and are not important take priority? You would think people would be so fascinated, so thrilled that a couple hours of the day focusing on important things that build on your goals would not only get you closer to achieving those goals, but you would have a sense of meaning for the day? And yet so many people are stuck in a loop of no productivity (another word would be proactivity) and they arn't happy with themselves. You will notice that these people complain a lot more, and make it known their life sucks. This person may even be you.
Another thought is people are so stuck in rushing to this and that and putting out this fire and that fire, that they forget to extiguish the source. It would be amazing for people to work on things that prevent fires rather then the fire itself. So why don't others do it? My beleif is they don't see it as urgent. We only focus on whats urgent, even if it isn't important. They never see the embers of a fire and just see the big urgent flames. So the key is to make productivity and proactivity urgent. The point isn't just to find the obvious embers but the hard to reach ones also.
Just think, working on a goal...an acutal goal, a goal that can be achieved in its own timetable, a goal that makes you better. Think of having just 10 mins, just 1 hour, just 5 hours a day to work on this goal. The winners are the players that are constant. They are constant in making, acheiving and fallowing through with their goals. It is said that someone can become a Professional at anything if 10,000 hours are put into the practice. 10 mins a day adds up quickly.... I promise.
Imagine yourself achieving the goal, notice how you would react, notice how you feel, notice how you would be so thrilled that you actually set out to accomplish something and you fallowed through. It amazes me how much poeple don't fallow through with themselves and their lives, and yet they fallow every foot step of their TV idol on the internet. Throw a brick through the TV and make your life a legacy, not looking through a flickering light of a massive screen.
what are you goals, what are your passions? don't have any? sorry to sound harsh but why are you living then? find your fire and build it every day constantly, even if it has to be 2 mins a day. Just start now. No planning, no thinking just doing. Along the way you can start seeing what works and doesn't and "plan" from there. It amazes me how bad of paper pushers we are for our own life. we just push papers this way and that way and never finally get to the doing part of the plan. We are always stuck in a loop of organizing, planning, then going back to organizing. So, Pick one thing and start doing it today, now, before something demotivates you. If you don't feel like going after you golden self just go through the motions, its OK to go through motions to start a habit. However, This is the only time it's ok to just go through the motions. After a while put your full heart and push through the goal. Put your whole focus on the goal. work to achieve it and obtain it. There is a saying out there that I can't remember exact words so paraphrasing it says "You would benifit more in focusing entirely on one person and helping that one person, then you would focusing on an entire group or mass of people". The same goes for goals. Sometimes the over achiver wants to put down so many goals that there is no time for all of them. Pick 1 to start and move from there. If you can't decide which one is more important from all your goals or roles then randomly pick 1 and work through it. After a time and if you see that you can, pick another goal and go from there. The point is to just start now as fast and soon as a cheetah sees its meal in front of her.
I may want to say that people have a hard time juggleing all their roles and goals. There is tons of interference around that takes away from the things that mean the most. This is where you have to decide. I know for a fact that you have at least an hour a day to work on a goal. This hour probably isn't all at once, but it will equal an hour. instead of the show you watch at night don't watch it and be proactive. instead of taking a "break" and sitting on the couch do something that motivates you. while driving home from work brainstorm your ideas and thoughts and get organized.
There is going to be a need for some kind of planning. weekly or daily or monthly or yearly. dedicate your life to plans. If you don't like plans, work out a plan in your life that doesn't need a lot of planning but you are still proactive. In the end you still need a plan or nothing will be done on your time table.

What I want to teach my children
I have been creating a list of things I feel are important to teach my children to be. I can't wait!
know your society
media is out there, fallow it and have an opinion then look at other sides opinion
know your role in society
Openly talk about sex at appropriate time to kids.
not all at once, not all of a sudden but over a period of time, gradually and constant there is no hush hush anymore about this, it is everywhere. tell it before the media tells it and they give the wrong ideas. be sooner to talk about it. and its not just about the birds and the bees. details need to be explained.
learing to enjoy the outdoors
camping
gardening
lounging
fishing
climbing and hiking
video games are no comparison to real outdoors, real games
what are your talents? help them find talents and build on them. then help them find others that may not be so obvious. Forcing a talent is tricky be careful, know when to quit if child doesn't have it.
all about car maintainence
tire change
oil change
brakes change
engine mounts
electrical
audio
personal property
charity and giving don't become the guy to come to for money but still give
finding the sweet medium in things. not to much but not to little
internet usuage and limits games arn't as enjoyable as playing with cars of course its just not cars but all other things
social networking doesn't mean texting and facebook/twitter
Personal finance with money and spending/saving (wealth growing)
dave ramsey feeling
good choices
1 good choice opens up many more choices (God through the Holy Spirit inspires you, when you fallow.. God through the spirit is inclinded to inspire you MORE because He knows you will listen) taking the right path leads to many more paths to fallow
art of sports watching and playing
consistancy
good habit forming not addiction forming
changing a challenge into an experience
learning to talk with superior figures such as your boss
if you don't want to be fat, dont eat where fat people eat.
this applies to many things. if you don't want to be like someone then don't do what they do if you want to learn something don't go to the expert, but someone that has gone through it and done it a lot. I wouldn't want consoling on marriage from a consoler that has been devorced 3 times and is single. I want advice from an old man that has been happly married for 45 yearsand she is supporting him while walking down the street. You may even have to interview the person. Before they console you if you don't know their background....
looking for the best buy around, maybe not getting it right away
the art in waiting and earning what you want. not getting something you can't pay for it all in in one shot. 100% down payment method
clean thoughts, clean material viewing, clean actions = clean inside and out
talk to your Heavenly father like he is your friend sitting right next to you. Pause as if he where to speak to you after and He will!
read scriptures story mode, spiritual mode, and finding answers mode
embaressment is part of life. learn what to do when it happens to you, to a friend or family,
and someone you don't know but you where around at the time or heard about it.
learning is not only fun but ongoing and never ending
don't push the sell, push the connection. Lets make a deal.
(Personal relationships are way better then business relationships)
include everyone, find the one that isn't included and get him involved
learn to question for understanding, not to critisize
no half heartedly. If you are going to do something or be someone then do it full heartedly
work hard play hard
finding joy in being with your siblings
1 week of compliments to 1 individual idea
finding joy in being with kids. no TV, no need for toy.. just 1 on 1 time together.
no need to be entertained every moment of every day... there is joy in silence and peace in nothingness
there are teaching moments and moments that I just have to say, "I cannot explain why right now but no...."
