Not urgent not important, yet takes priority

Isn't it funny: the things that are not urgent and are not important take priority? You would think people would be so fascinated, so thrilled that a couple hours of the day focusing on important things that build on your goals would not only get you closer to achieving those goals, but you would have a sense of meaning for the day? And yet so many people are stuck in a loop of no productivity (another word would be proactivity) and they arn't happy with themselves. You will notice that these people complain a lot more, and make it known their life sucks. This person may even be you.
Another thought is people are so stuck in rushing to this and that and putting out this fire and that fire, that they forget to extiguish the source. It would be amazing for people to work on things that prevent fires rather then the fire itself. So why don't others do it? My beleif is they don't see it as urgent. We only focus on whats urgent, even if it isn't important. They never see  the embers of a fire and just see the big urgent flames. So the key is to make productivity and proactivity urgent. The point isn't just to find the obvious embers but the hard to reach ones also.
Just think, working on a goal...an acutal goal, a goal that can be achieved in its own timetable, a goal that makes you better. Think of having just 10 mins, just 1 hour, just 5 hours a day to work on this goal. The winners are the players that are constant. They are constant in making, acheiving and fallowing through with their goals. It is said that someone can become a Professional at anything if 10,000 hours are put into the practice. 10 mins a day adds up quickly.... I promise.
Imagine yourself achieving the goal, notice how you would react, notice how you feel, notice how you would be so thrilled that you actually set out to accomplish something and you fallowed through. It amazes me how much poeple don't fallow through with themselves and their lives, and yet they fallow every foot step of their TV idol on the internet. Throw a brick through the TV and make your life a legacy, not looking through a flickering light of a massive screen.
what are you goals, what are your passions? don't have any? sorry to sound harsh but why are you living then? find your fire and build it every day constantly, even if it has to be 2 mins a day. Just start now. No planning, no thinking just doing. Along the way you can start seeing what works and doesn't and "plan" from there. It amazes me how bad of paper pushers we are for our own life. we just push papers this way and that way and never finally get to the doing part of the plan. We are always stuck in a loop of organizing, planning, then going back to organizing. So, Pick one thing and start doing it today, now, before something demotivates you. If you don't feel like going after you golden self just go through the motions, its OK to go through motions to start a habit. However, This is the only time it's ok to just go through the motions. After a while put your full heart and push through the goal. Put your whole focus on the goal. work to achieve it and obtain it. There is a saying out there that I can't remember exact words so paraphrasing it says "You would benifit more in focusing entirely on one person and helping that one person, then you would focusing on an entire group or mass of people". The same goes for goals. Sometimes the over achiver wants to put down so many goals that there is no time for all of them. Pick 1 to start and move from there. If you can't decide which one is more important from all your goals or roles then randomly pick 1 and work through it. After a time and if you see that you can, pick another goal and go from there. The point is to just start now as fast and soon as a cheetah sees its meal in front of her.
I may want to say that people have a hard time juggleing all their roles and goals. There is tons of interference around that takes away from the things that mean the most. This is where you have to decide. I know for a fact that you have at least an hour a day to work on a goal. This hour probably isn't all at once, but it will equal an hour. instead of the show you watch at night don't watch it and be proactive. instead of taking a "break" and sitting on the couch do something that motivates you. while driving home from work brainstorm your ideas and thoughts and get organized.
There is going to be a need for some kind of planning. weekly or daily or monthly or yearly. dedicate your life to plans. If you don't like plans, work out a plan in your life that doesn't need a lot of planning but you are still proactive. In the end you still need a plan or nothing will be done on your time table.
